What are Dental Crowns?
Crowns or caps are devices that look like a natural tooth. These artificial teeth cover a damaged tooth or a dental implant. Crowns are permanently placed in your mouth with dental cement. Natural looking white crowns can be made and these caps and crowns are very sturdy and can work well for years.
How are Dental Crowns Made?
When a crown is placed, your natural tooth will be reduced in size. An impression is then taken to make the crown. After the crown is made, it will be placed in your mouth, and your smile will look and function well again.
What are Dental Bridges?
Bridges cover a space in your mouth. Bridges may be removable or attached permanently. When you lose a tooth, it’s essential to place a bridge, crown, or implant in the space where the tooth used to be to keep your natural teeth from shifting.
How are Dental Bridges Made?
Traditional bridges use a crown made of porcelain which is fused to ceramics or metal placed in the mouth. Maryland bonded bridges are built by fusing crowns fused to metal or porcelain. Once the bridge is made, the device is bonded to the closest natural teeth.
